Mayors for Meals

Chestnut Hill Meals on Wheels will host the kick-off event for Mayors for Meals in the Philadelphia area on Wednesday, March 23, 2011. Chestnut Hill Meals on Wheels will be participating in Mayors for Meals Day as a part of its March For Meals campaign. Mayor Michael Nutter and his office will be supporting our efforts in the event to show his support for our community’s homebound and hungry seniors. Chestnut Hill Meals on Wheels Mayors for Meals Day event on Wednesday, March 23rd, will include at an event at 9:00 at our office (Keystone House, 8765 Stenton Ave, Wyndmoor, PA 19038) which will include a meet & greet with our volunteers, board members, and community leaders. At 9:30am Clarence Armbrister (Mayor Nutters, Chief of Staff) will address our volunteers about their dedicated commitment to Meals on Wheels and the importance of helping end senior hunger in our community.

Following our kickoff event, we will join Mayor, Michael Nutter at South Philadelphia High School to prepare and deliver meals to homebound seniors with student volunteers. Newly signed Philadelphia Eagles Football player and former University of Florida standout, Cornelius Ingram will also join Chestnut Hill Meals on Wheels volunteers at South Philly High School.  Ingram is committed to giving back, and we are happy that he will be joining Chestnut Hill Meals on Wheels as bring awareness to senior hunger.
