In 2009 we were told that the “umbrella” institution which had given us our tax exempt status would no longer be able to provide us this privilege.  At that point we embarked on our current journey to establish ourselves as a non-profit with our own incorporation and organization as a 501(c)3.  This process entailed ensuring that all details and facts about the organization were in good order and that there were no liabilities that would hinder our obtaining the coveted recognition that we desired in order to form a new and stronger Chestnut Hill Meals on Wheels and lay a firm foundation for the future.  We could now continue, and yet begin, to move forward.  We could make the changes that would expand the organization and start to fulfill the huge potential for service to our clients and our community throughout Northwest Philadelphia.
