Our dedicated corps of volunteers is prepared to deliver 2 meals each weekday between 10:30am and noon. Clients will determine the amount of days they wish to receive meals.
We attempt to meet most medically dictated dietary needs.
Chestnut Hill Meals on Wheels attempts to ensure our clients always have adequate food on hand, even when weather conditions impede our normal delivery schedule. So, each winter, “Blizzard Bags” are distributed to our clients. These packages, donated and prepared by volunteer groups, contain food staples with extended shelf life, that may be readily substituted for a meal during stormy conditions.
Sample contents may include fruit juice, tea, oatmeal, crackers, soup, applesauce, pudding, cookies, canned tuna or chicken, mayonnaise packets, raisins and much more.
In partnership with Chestnut Hill Center for Enrichment and Center on the Hill, Chestnut Hill Meals on Wheels hosts monthly luncheons for our seniors on the 4th Tuesday of each month, September thru June, at Center on the Hill, located in The Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill. The cost of these delicious and fun luncheons is $8.00 per individual. These lunches provide a wonderful opportunity for our community’s seniors to gather, break bread, and catch up on what’s going on in the neighborhood and in their individual lives.
